Remove image backgrounds in your browser
Add one or more PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images, choose a color tolerance and start the conversion. Freisteller identifies pixels connected to the image edges whose colors are sufficiently similar, then makes those areas transparent. Processing happens locally in your browser; the selected files are not uploaded to Twelve Digital.
When the tool works best
- Product photos with an even white or single-color background.
- Logos, icons and scanned objects with a clear edge around the subject.
- Small batches that should be exported together as transparent PNG files.
Color tolerance and limits
A low tolerance removes only colors very close to the background sample. A higher value also removes shadows and color variation, but can erase parts of the foreground. Complex hair, transparent objects, busy scenes and backgrounds that resemble the subject may need a dedicated segmentation editor instead of color-based removal.
